Jim Speer, CEO of OneKey™ MLS, has been named to the 2020 Swanepoel Power 200 (SP200) list, for the second consecutive year. The SP200 is the definitive ranking of the residential real estate industry’s 200 most powerful and influential leaders, as of December 31, 2019.
Speer serves as the CEO of New York’s OneKey MLS, the result of the 2018 merger between the MLSs of Long Island and the Hudson Gateway. In October 2019, the MLS, which serves 40,000 members rebranded to OneKey MLS from the New York MLS.
Speer previously served as the Senior Vice President of Operations at the Multiple Listing Service of Long Island (MLSLI) prior to being named as the Chief Executive Officer of the newly formed regional MLS, in which he was a key player in the formation.
Over the course of thirty years in the real estate industry, Jim was instrumental in the development of MLSLI.com, one of the first MLS consumer-facing websites, which to this day remains one of the most successful. An expert in industry technology, Jim created the products and services division at MLSLI that promotes innovative tools to support member’s business success.
This is the seventh edition of the SP200, which is published by the real estate research and management consulting firmT3 Sixty each January. According to T3 Sixty, it arrives at its annual SP200 list after spending “more than 400 hours analyzing hundreds of bios, annual reports and transaction and sales volume data.” It then sends “hundreds of requests for additional information, personally verifying stats, announcements, and actions that took place over the past year.”
